Dear BLU Steering Group (or may I call you Blue?) The Green Party believes that political decision making should be made as closely as possible to the people affected by it. And we therefore welcome your determination to keep the Lido open. As to who should pay for it if it genuinely can not support itself after all efforts have been made I believe the fact that it provides health giving and challenging leisure activity entitles it to be subsidised by the wider community. Which, dear Blue, amounts to an answer of "Yes" to both your questions. Yours verdantly Tim Beaumont |
