BLU invites you to a meeting on Saturday 15 February 2003 to:
  • See the proposals
  • Ask questions
  • Express your views
This is your last opportunity before decisions about the proposals are made by Lambeth councillors. BLU will raise comments through our 50% representation on the Lambeth Steering Committee. Councillors are also invited to our meeting to hear views expressed.

Lambeth Town Hall

10.00 am to 12.30 pm
Proposals on view from 9.30 am
* some members have expressed concern that the meeting is on the same day as the anti-war march in central London. We believe the timing is such that any members wishing to go on the march may still attend the BLU meeting beforehand.

Please review the summary of proposals and, if possible, bring your own printed copy.

Please e-mail any questions or comments you have and we shall try to raise these with the bidders at the meeting. There will also be an opportunity for you to ask questions and feedback your views at the meeting. If you cannot attend the meeting and wish to make a comment, please e-mail it to us before 22 February 2003.

Bids result from Lambeth's invitation document in May 2002. All short-listed responses are summarised here. Final bids submitted on 31 January 2003 will address comments received on expressions of interest, including comments made at BLU's meeting on Saturday 5 October.

Our meeting on 15 February is the culmination of a process initiated by Lambeth in autumn 2001 to find a way to make Brockwell Lido sustainable. This process involved a consultant's report, a public meeting and regular meetings of a Lido Steering Group representing local groups (BLU, the Herne Hill Forum, the MAC and the Friends of Brockwell Park). In July an invitation to express interest in developing the Lido was published in the national press. The short-listed respondents to this invitation are now presenting their proposals. The Lido Steering Group are due to make their recommendations to Lambeth councillors by early March. Councillors will then make the final decision. Views from those who attend this meeting will be summarised and sent to the Steering Group and to councillors.
